Mitch Speed and Mendin’ Fences are a country music band based in the Antelope Valley of Southern California, composed of a talented group of musicians and songwriters dedicated to entertaining their audiences, with country music at a level parallel to any artists within the industry.

During the last several years they have opened for artists, such as Chad Brock, Daryle Singletary, Rhett Akins, and Highway 101 just to name a few! They have also performed their original material live on radio station 103.1 KTPI and successfully competed at the state level in the Jimmy Dean-True Value Country Showdown at Knott’s Berry Farm.

Along with showing off their musical talents, the band enjoys interacting with audiences by getting them “involved” in the show. Mitch explains, “a lot of bands can play music, but we’re there to entertain people and have some fun with them while we’re doing it.”

Their debut CD, “It’s Just A Matter of Time”, was a nine month effort blending traditional country with modern production techniques.

The CD is available for purchase at www.mp3.com/mendinfences

The album kicks off with a song that first introduced me to the music of Mitch Speed & Mendin' Fences, after I listened to it at MP3.com. "It's Just A Matter Of Time" is a catchy two stepper, written by Mark Fly (the albums producer, who had a hand in writing every song on here) that will have you looking forward to hearing the rest of the CD.

We stay in uptempo mood for "Daddy's Gotta Go," an extremely catchy tune that is bound to be popular with the linedancers, this time co-written by Mitch with Mark Fly. The song tells of the heartache a marriage breakup can cause, when there are children involved.
This is a terrific song, that has you reaching for the repeat button!!

First of two ballads on the album, "A Hundred Miles Down The Rio Grande" is a song co-written by Mark Fly and Rod Lewis, that tells of a man returning home after having to leave to fight in the war. "Unconditional," a story of falling in love for the first time, is the other ballad on here.

Other tracks on here are "You Could Never Tell," a story of being used by a woman to make her ex jealous, (I wonder how many have been there!!) "More Than He Bargained For," that tells of finding everlasting love, and "She Ain't Said It Yet," another very catchy song, this time with some great rolling banjo, that had me once again reaching for the repeat button!!

At the beginning of this review, it states that Mitch Speed And Mendin' Fences are dedicated to entertaining their audiences, with country music at a level parallel to any artists within the industry.
After listening to this excellent debut album, I have no doubt they have achieved that!

The only disappointment is that it only contains 7 tracks, and had finished just as I was getting to enjoy myself. I suggest you get over to MP3.com and take a listen to some of them. You won't be disappointed!

Excellent!!
