John is a native Californian who has gained much notoriety in the country music field in the past 9 years. He has played rhythm guitar and sang since his high school days. John performs as a solo act but has also been a member of "the most wanted" band and "southern express" band and currently "best of the west" band.

Although John keeps himself extremely busy performing & recording, he always finds the time to help out with any benefits or charity' and is well liked by those who have worked with him.

John records under the "ESB" record label and has had great success with his singles. From 1991 to 1999, John has won many awards from the California Country Music Association and Country Music Association of America for: Male Vocalist-Entertainer of the Year, Record of the Year and Song & Band of the Year.

This release is a 6 track collectors special edition, aimed primarily at the linedancing fraternity, but the music on here should also interest those who like to listen to good, rockin' country music. There are no actual writer credits on the album, but the name "Jack H Schroeder" is bracketed under John's, so I presume he is the writer of all songs on here.

The opening track "Toe Tappin' Country Man" is a fast paced country rocker, with references to Hank Jr in the lyrics. This is a great one to get the dancers, especially Jivers, on the floor, and is a great track to open the album with. John then get's in a more traditional mood with "Three Reasons", a great track with classic potential, that I could see a lot of British acts covering where the song to get around enough.

Other tracks on here are, "2nd Wind", an out and out linedance track, the lively toe tappin' Honky Tonker, "Don't Throw Stones", the Two Steppin' "All I Need", and the albums closer, the Bluesy "Two Faced" with some great harmonica fills.

This is a fine album from a man who has a great voice, and is an essential addition to the CD collection of all Line and Country dance fans. The only disappointment here, is that there are only 6 tracks. I certainly look forward to hearing a lot more from John P. Swisshelm.
