Wade Richardson
Hang On For The Ride
|
|
This album kicks off with the hectic paced honky tonker, "Another Lover," a self penned song, very reminiscent of Garth Brooks' "Ain't Goin' Down Till The Sun Comes Up." The
tempo slows only slightly for "Hang On
For The Ride," before a teriffic ballad that sounds like
it's just come off a Restless Heart album. "Someday,"
co-penned by Wade with Jeff Huskins is a song about trying to come
to terms with the end of a relationship. Other ballads on here are, "My Lips Miss Yours" another self composition, "Something Between Us," a song about two people finally getting together after fate kept on getting in the way, and "21 To 17," a song that tells of watching his team win a big football game while he loses out on love. "When
It's Love"
is a catchy two stepper, again penned by Jeff Huskins, telling of
a couple who were together over 60 years before they both passed on,
while the funky "Every Time Your Near" is a great Western/Swing tune that is expected to be the first single release from the album. This is a very catchy, self penned toe tapper that I would expect to see plenty of airplay. Wade rocks it up with "When She Heats Up" while the albums closer is the gospel flavoured "God's Watching Over You." Apart from the fact that he comes from Missouri, I don't know very much about Wade Richardson. But what I do know is that "Hang On For The Ride" is a fine album of modern country music, containing a good mix of ballads and uptempo numbers. Wade who has a good, although not very strong voice, also shows he has talent as a songwriter, with some excellent self penned material on here. If you like your country music modern, but still essentially country, then do yourself a favour and check out this album from an artist I am sure we are going to be hearing a lot more of. |
