When Angel Falls
Foggy Mountain Top

Hermann, again made the trip over to Nashville to record this, his latest album, once again enlisting the services of some of music city's finest musician's, namely, Buddy Emmons on pedal steel, Buddy Spicher on fiddle, Pete Wade on guitars and Pig Robbins on piano, just to name a few.

Of the 14 tracks on here, half are duets, with his sister Marian Mõhring joining him on the mid paced two stepper, "Faithful", the slow "In My Reply" and the catchy shuffler, "That's All It Took." "Pretty Miss"......as Hermann relates to her......Norma Jean also makes an appearance, as on past albums, for a great, (semi) live version of the Carter Family's "Foggy Mountain Top." There's some great picking at the end of this one! Other duets one the album feature ," Michael Ballew on the rousing Porter Wagoner penned "Y'all Come." Lois Johnson on the slow waltz, "Make A Left And Then A Right" and David Frizzell on, "Best Part Of Nothing" another waltz that this time comes from Hermann's own pen.

Other self penned tracks on here include, the opening track, the mid paced "When Angel Falls," the wonderful, slow, "She Dances Alone," previously released as a single, two steppers "What Took You So Long"and "Step By Step" and the rocking "Bear Creek Lounge," all songs that stand up very well against the other material on here, proving that when it comes to writing a good country song, Hermann is up there with the best of them.

There's also a place on the album for the atmospheric "Rose Of The Mountains," featuring 'The Callaways' on backing vocals, this song has also seen success as a single release.

All in all, this is another fine release from this popular German entertainer, who proves you don't have to come from the U.S to make good country music. Pick up a copy, you won't be disappointed!
