Kim
was raised in Blackfoot, Idaho, the daughter of a well known stunt
pilot and crop duster Don Novas and his wife Clarice.
Kim
has a BA degree in musical theater from Brigham Young University.
She has recently appeared in five made for TV movies, "Nothing
Lasts Forever" "Unforgivable" and "The Face of
Evil" to mention a few. Kim played the lead in two well known
musicals, "Saturday's Warrior" and "My Turn On Earth"
the latter of which toured the US and Canada for two years resulting
in 200 performances. She has also appeared in many other stage productions
such as "Oklahoma", "Fiddler on the Roof", "When
the Saints go Marching" and so on.
Before
commitments took Kim back to Utah, she lived in Nashville, TN for
seven years learning the music business and singing on demos and background
vocals for other artists and album projects. In1998, Universal Sound
Records released three great tracks on Kim, on the album "Three
Times the Country II" which received a great deal of attention
and exposure world wide for Kim, and everyone wanted a full solo album
from her. Now, this long awaited album is finished and dedicated to
the memory of her late Father.
Kim
has already seen success in the EMS European charts with the title
track, "Blue Skies Over Georgia",
a song co-penned by frequent visitor to the U.K, Mark Mosley who many
will probably know, married Marie Lester, a singer from the Liverpool
area here in the U.K. The song, one of two tracks from Mark on the
album, is a catchy two stepper that reached #14 in March of 2002.
The other Mark Mosley penned track on here is
"Everybody's Talkin'",
.not to be confused
with the one by Nillson on the Midnight cowboy soundtrack
a
mid-paced two-stepper, co-written with Marie Lester about a couple
going through a bad patch
.."Everybody's talkin', except
for me and you."
For
me, the big stand out track on the album is "How
Are You." Penned by Bruce Howes, the song is a very catchy
4/4 shuffle that's very difficult to keep your feet still to. This
one is guaranteed plenty airtime on Metro Country. Great!!
Also on here is a track previously released by Kim on the aforementioned
"3 Times The Country" compilation.
"Big Bad Wolf" is a country rocker co-penned by noted
songwriter Russell Smith of the 'Amazing Rhythm Aces.'
Kim
has a very appealing voice and with the help of some first class musician's
like, Troy Lancaster on Guitar, Larry Franklin' and Hoot Hester on
Fiddle and Mandolin, Danny Parks and Curt Ryle on Acoustic Guitars
to name just a few, plus T Jae Christian of the highly respected Universal
Sound Records producing, I'm sure that with "Blue Skies Over
Georgia" Kim has an album that will please her many fans who
have been patiently waiting for this moment.
