This 14 track album from the talented singer/songwriter, Victoria Shaw, contains 13 songs, either written or co-written by the lady herself, with one, the current single, "Tripped," a catchy song written by Amy Powers & Peter Zizza. I can only guess that this is a personal favourite that she wanted to be on the album. The song tells of bumping into an old love and starts with an organ intro, ala Procal Harum "Whiter Shade Of Pale." As I write, the song is sitting at #3 in the EMS European charts, so it was obviously a good choice.

Of the 13 other tracks on here, the most well known is probably "I Love The Way You Love Me" a Country hit for John Michael Montgomery and a hit in the U.K. pop charts for....I think...Boyzone. I love the vibrato Victoria uses on the word 'Love' in the chorus. It cuts through you like a knife! This is definitely my favourite version of the song! There are also two songs written with Garth Brooks, namely the excellent, "The River" recorded on Garth's "Ropin' The Wind" album and "She's Every Woman" from the later "Fresh Horses" album. Both are given excellent readings here.

Of the other tracks on here, I particularly like......although there isn't a bad track on the album...... the wonderful ballad, "Too Busy Being In Love" a former hit for Doug Stone, the Skip Ewing co-write, "The Other Woman," and a fun song, Victoria says she wrote in a Jaccuzzi with Gary Burr??? "Waikiki Cowboy." I also like the albums opener, a very catchy accapella reading of, "That's How Much I Love You."

Even if you have most of these songs by other artists, pick up this CD. Although a top songwriter, Victoria is also, in my mind, a very underated singer, who has a great voice and I find it unbelievable that she isn't on a major label anymore.

The album is being didtributed in the U.K. by Broadway U.K. If you can't find it in the shops, go to their website at; www.countrymusicinternational.net or E mail at country@broadwayuk.co.uk Highly Recommended!!!
