COUNTRY HOTDISC INDEPENDENT CHART
METRO COUNTRY HOTDISC REVIEW

1 CLAY McCLINTON 8
There's no mistaking the son of the great Delbert McClinton on this fine, bluesy rocker co-penned with Rob Roy Parnell and Bruce Chanel.

2 ANTHONY DUKE 8
I said on his last release that this artist sounds good enough to do well in Nashville and listening to this latest track from his debut album, I see no reason to change that view. An artist and album well worth checking out!!

3 ACE DIAMOND 6
Another good rocker from this Hotdisc regular. Should prove very popular in the clubs.

4 DEBRA ANDREW 7
Lovely voice! Nice song! But country?

5 LAWRENCE JOHN PROJ. 9
Another from the pen of Lawrence John and this time, one that might interest Alan Jackson. Great song and fine vocals from the unnamed singer.

6 P V TANNER 5
Nice song.
Well worn vocals.

7 THE STICKERS 7
Nice ballad from this band of brothers who sound set to go places. Fine musicianship.

8 RANDY THOMPSON 9
I've been
a fan of Randy's for a long time now and he doesn't disappoint me with this, his latest release. A fine country/rock singer/songwriter in the Bob Seger mold. Check him out!!

9 T JAE CHRISTIAN 8
Brilliant, solid country vocalist who, should have been a major star, sings a beautiful song that is surely destined for the top end of the charts.

10 D K DAVIS 7
Catchy, country/pop tune with a distinct 70s feel, written by top songwriter Shawn Camp. Nice song! Good vocals!

11 DAN VOGLER 6
Toe tappin' tune from one of Australia's top country/gospel artist's. Good voice. Solid country sound.

12 WILL BANISTER 8
Strong release from this young singer from Clovis, New Mexico. Well worth keeping an eye on.

13 THE DIABLOS 6
Good, original, hillbilly from a band of talented British musicians. Well impressed!!

14 STEVE CHEERS 6
Decent, self penned effort from this Australian country artist's album “Speed Of Love”.

15 IAN HIGHLAND 7
British country music singer who must surely have a good future. Fine voice!

16 CHARLIE BOSTON 9
Latest single from the U.K's (and my) favourite Bluegrass artist, taken from his new, Nashville recorded album “Out On The Ridge”. If this track is anything to go by, it should be an album well worth looking out for.

17 ROCKIN’ HORSE 7
Good, solid country tune. Good vocals from George Ingles.

18 STU STEVENS 6
Good, self penned effort from this U.K. Favourite.

ECMA COUNTRY CHARTS

The oldest country music radio chart in Europe, active since 1994. Based Strictly On An Airplay Playlist Report Basis.

click

ECMA'S Reporters Are Radio Stations, Individual Shows And/or Syndicators, Each With European Coverage. The Chart Shows Country Music Penetration Throughout Europe.

How The Chart Is Compiled, And Why It Is Done This Way.

This is a list of the Top 40 Most Popular Songs released on the Rush Released promotional CD.

The Hotdisc charts are compiled from DJs and industry professionals' ratings of songs currently being promoted on the Rush Released CD. They are not airplay charts, as airplay charts cannot work in Europe as there are no terrestrial country stations in this area. The hundreds of country shows are likely to play a particular song only twice at most in a three month period, therefore rendering airplay charts insignificant in Europe. It works well in America where there are plenty of non-stop country stations but it cannot work here.

The Hotdisc charts are therefore put together weekly using ratings supplied by DJs who give scores to every song on the last three months' editions of Rush Released. The scores are totalled up and averaged out per week to give an accurate guide to the songs which are being championed by the industry. The aim is to showcase the songs which the DJs and media people are pinpointing as top quality songs, which is a very useful exercise, particularly to all our clients and DJs as it is free of politics, hype and rigging and done on merit!

TWO NEW NUMBER ONES ON THE HOTDISC CHARTS THIS WEEK

There's a new number 1 on both Hotdisc charts this week with Will Banister taking over pole position at the top of the Hotdisc Top 40 with "Turned Her On To Country". The young American singer who will appear at the Wembley Country Music Festival next month, has been gradually closing the gap on Lawrence John Project for the past three weeks and this week he has finally overhauled him to get his first chart topper with his first single.

The LJP slip down to number 2 while D K Davis continues to climb with his latest offering, "Goodbye Is The Wrong Way To Go" at number 3. But at 5 this week is British singer Ian Highland with his debut single - a cover of the Gene Watson hit "Carmen" - and that lands him his first ever British number 1 at the same time..

Check out the two Hotdisc Chart programmes currently on air. The live transmission times for these shows are as follows:

Sundays at 12 Noon - CMR Nashville Radio - Hotdisc Top 40 Show
Mondays at 8pm - UKCountryRadio.com - Hotdisc British & Irish Top 10 Show
