Luke lives in the Isle of Wight so inevitably his appearances are usually limited to the South of England.
I was fortunate to see him a few years ago on one of his rare visits to the North when he went under the name of Luke the Renegade. I can remember at the time how impressed I was with his performance.
Now reverting to his own name and a change of appearance, that I think gives him a more suitable image, as it fits in better with the way country music is going today.

This is an excellent album with all the songs, bar the exception of two, having been written or co-written by Luke. He has a nice baritone voice that at times reminds me of Waylon and Haggard but he still retains his own distinctive sound. He uses his voice well and he doesn't have that nasal sound that so many British artists seem to acquire for some reason.

Tracks that I enjoyed were, the classic, 'Smokey Mountain Rain', 'I Ain't Got No Hat', 'If It Feels Good' and 'Banjo Picker' although I would have liked to have heard a more extended version of this track. Some of the tracks have been taken off one of his earlier albums of self-penned music, but now have a much better quality about them.

An album that I enjoyed, even though some of the songs had a popular music feel about them........... but this is a trend that is coming into the more modern country albums. I don't think that it is a bad thing provided that the album retains that country feel.

The album can be purchased in the main music stores, or your local supplier will be able to get it for you.
